Being a Fan

Being a Cub fan is one of the best ways to prepare you for a lifetime filled with disappointment. It prepares you to embrace that life and never quit. As a Cub fan, you are surrounded by thousands of others who've had that same disappointment, and that is why I can call any Cub fan a friend.

Being a Cub fan means you've accepted black cats, miracle Mets, a ghostly glove at first, and a poor guy who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. You've endured seasons of last place finishes, great and bad renditions of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game", and the occasional "Hey, Hey" by a guy named Harry.

Being a Cub fan means no matter how famous you are, how unknown you are, or your political views, when you wear that hat or jersey you are a friend. We are a family of misfits, a family of losers, but in the end, we always fly the "W". Go Cubs.
