The War on the First Amendment by Gabrielle Seunagal

The First Amendment says the following:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

It seems that with each passing day, liberals find more and more ways to infringe on the First Amendment. In December 2015, Yale University students happily signed a petition to repeal the First Amendment.

(Don't believe me? The link to the video is right here:

It is terrifying that college students were eager and willing to sign away their basic rights to free speech, freedom of religion, etc. It makes me question what is being taught in these so called "prestigious" universities if their students are this ignorant and this anti-American.

In addition, liberals have been disrupting the rallies of Republican nominee and future President, Donald Trump. Not only have they disrupted these rallies, but they have openly bragged about getting them shut down.

(The link is here:

Why are liberals only tolerant when they agree with what is being said? Liberals claim to support equality, but equality is treating everyone the same way. Liberals have attacked Trump supporters by tackling, hitting, throwing eggs on women, and rioting to the point where Trump's rallies have been forced to shut down.

This is a complete violation of the First Amendment. Donald Trump has the right to speak even if everyone does not agree with his message. His supporters have the right to hear him. Liberals do not have the right to be violent and infringe on the rights of others. Some might say that liberals "protesting" is an exertion of their First Amendment rights, but that is erroneous. The First Amendment protects peaceful assemblage. Assaulting Trump supporters is not peaceful. If conservatives went to Bernie/Hillary rallies and did a mere fraction of what liberals have done at Trump rallies, it would make national news, and every single Trump supporter would be crucified as an intolerant, hateful bigot.

We must defend and preserve our First Amendment rights. Americans have the right to openly share their opinions even if everyone doesn't agree with them. Americans have the right to peacefully assemble, write in the press, and practice their religion. These are basic, fundamental rights that were put in place for the people of this great nation. Also, note that it is the First Amendment. Our founding fathers believed it to be so important that it should come before any and all other rights. It is our duty as Patriots to protect this right.
