"Fat Acceptance Movement" (n) - a social movement seeking to change anti-fat bias in social attitudes
What a joke. The Fat Acceptance Movement is the dumbest thing that Social Justice Warriors ever invented. Why are we encouraging people to be unhealthy? Why are we promoting something that is grotesque? The Fat Acceptance Movement is the ultimate lie. It is an illusion designed to deceive obese people into believing they don't need to change and that they are "beautiful the way they are."
Wrong!!!! They most certainly need to change. Any medical doctor would agree with me. Obesity comes with a plethora of health risks. There is nothing beautiful about excessive cellulite, Type 2 Diabetes, cancer, sleep apnea, or reproductive problems. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, being overweight or obese greatly raises the risk of having these health complications.
Within certain social groups, there is an anti fat bias, as there should be. Fatness signifies a lack of self control and an unwillingness or inability to care for one's own physical body. This behavior should be discouraged. Over three million people in the United States are obese, according to the Mayo Clinic. Instead of lying to fat people and promoting this disorder, society needs to promote healthy eating, exercise, and even counseling or therapy.
Fat is NOT beautiful. Fat is NOT sexy. Fat is NOT healthy. It never has been and never will be, no matter how many feminists claim that it should be. Feminists and Social Justice Warriors have a way to trying to say bad is good and good is bad. Doesn't work that way, though.
It is no surprise that many people are not attracted to those who are obese or overweight. It's unnatural to have excessive body fat. It is even classified as a disorder. Healthy people are usually attracted to other healthy people.
Let us not encourage unhealthy, hazardous behavior. It does a major disservice to people who suffer from obesity. Let us promote a healthy lifestyle so that people are motivated to take good care of their bodies. This is TRUE body positivity and self love.
