This Memorial day, as I hope all of you do every Memorial day, please reflect on how Memorial day affects veterans as well as the loved ones who lost dear members of their families.
Memorial day is not a day to say thank you to a veteran. It is a time to reflect and mourn the loss of those who defended this Great Nation. As well as mourn and reflect the loss of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty as Police Officers, Fire Fighters, and Paramedics.
Do not say "Happy Memorial day!" because Memorial day for veterans is not a happy day. I honor Memorial day by doing whiskey shots to my friends and mentors I lost, then try to make the day pass by quickly. For many veterans Memorial day is a very difficult time, and we'd like it to go as fast as it can.
During Memorial day many loved ones are grieving, many flags, and flowers are being placed at graves throughout the country. Please be respectful.
During your parties, barbecues, get together s, vacations, and whatever else you do. Please take a moment of silence this Memorial day and remember the ones who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
