American Exceptionalism

American exceptionalism has been falsified as anywhere from xenophobia to racism to inequality. It is sad with all the educational materials surrounding us how the ignorant and arrogant leftist are still confused about what American exceptionalism really is. What is even more sad is how students across this Great Nation of ours are being taught that it isn’t ok to be proud of being American. That we belong to an ever increasing global community. 

That way of thinking is complete and utter crap. 

In its classic forms, American exceptionalism refers to the special character of the United States as a uniquely free Republic based on democratic ideals and personal liberty.

American exceptionalism is what it means to be a citizen of the Greatest Nation on earth the United States of America. No matter your race, sexuality, religion, creed as long as you are here legally or naturalized you are an exceptional American. No other citizen in the world can claim that.

American exceptionalism means from the day you are born or legalized into this country you are equal to everyone else. Man or woman you are equal to the person next to you. “We hold these truths to be self evident. That all men and women are created equal.”. Equality has taken on different meanings over the years. Recently that equality means same entitlements. That is not what equality means in America. Being equal means that all of us have the same opportunities available, the same means to make our lives meaningful. To use those opportunities whatever skill set you have to excel in this country without a government or others telling you no. To build a life for yourself, to take responsibility for your life and rise above to build the life you are comfortable with. Do you want to be rich? Then you have the opportunity through hard work. Do you want to be satisfied? That question is answered in many different ways, but in America you can be satisfied in life.

American exceptionalism gives you the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Life and liberty are given to you, but you have to take responsibility and pursue happiness. It will not be handed to you. 

American exceptionalism means through the first ten amendments of the Constitution otherwise known as the Bill of Rights we are guaranteed these rights as an American citizen through God our creator that no man can take them away. 

First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Meaning you are free to worship without persecution, you are free to say what you want when you want. To speak out against the government, authority without punishment when government flexes it’s muscles against the people. Freedom of the press to report the truth freely. However freedom of the press has been silenced by a leftist tyrannical agenda. The right to assemble peacefully to protest. Protest peacefully, once it becomes violent you lose that right. The right to petition to tell the government we the people say no or desire change.

Second Amendement

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Meaning you have the right to bear a firearm to protect yourself and your family from criminals and to protect yourself from a tyrannical government.

Third Amendment

No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

Meaning no military force or individual can occupy your home. 

Fourth Amendment

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Only a warrant by a court of law can and should be the only thing that enables any law enforcement Federal or local to search your home period. If there is no warrant they are trespassing on your property. 

Fifth Amendment

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Protection against being tried for the same crime twice and protection against self incrimination. Also that no property can be forcibly taken unless you are given payment.

Sixth Amendment

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense.

You have the right to a fair and speedy trial. Any court or government that ignores the 5th Amendment can and should be held accountable. No one should be held long term without a trial. If they are then they should be held accountable for unlawful confinement. 

Seventh Amendment

In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.

You have the right to a trial by jury for any civil court cases.

Eighth Amendment

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted. 

Unfortunately in our soft tyrannical government most people do not bring up the 8th Amendment to defend themselves or clients against some absurd fines and bail imposed by any court. The crime fits the bill so to speak.

Ninth Amendment

The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

Meaning you cannot deny a person any of these ten rights and cannot be used by the Federal Government to increase it’s power.

Tenth Amendment

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Separation of powers. The federal government cannot and shall not interfere with state legislation or bully states into legislation the people do not agree with,

These ten amendments are the very core of American exceptionalism. No other nation on this earth has these Bill of Rights given to every citizen. Be proud to be an American. It doesn’t mean you are better than any other person on earth, but you have exceptional opportunity that they do not through American exceptionalism. Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.


  1. Great job! I wish this teaching was stressed over & over & over in our education system. With the way people act today I wonder if it is taught any more. Even Hillary Clinton doesn't respect our #2a. So she has no right holding the office of POTUS on this alone.
